Wittrups Motel

The room layout was just what we wanted, and the beds were really comfortable too. We were after an authentic 1950s American motel experience, and that’s exactly what we got! We’ll absolutely book another stay 💙

The location worked well for getting around the Copenhagen area, and breakfast was okay. The reception was quick and friendly, though it didn’t look very welcoming. Rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, but there was a slight smell and mold in the shower. Light from the entrance and curtains that didn’t block it out kept me awake. The worst part was the noise in the morning. Contractors staying at the hotel left in very noisy trucks from 5 am, apparently needing to warm them up outside my bedroom. My night was over at 5, and I couldn’t get back to sleep. It was so annoying, and honestly, that’s why I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was clean, and the staff were flexible about letting us check in after the official opening time, which I really appreciated. But we could hear the person in the next room snoring, people talking in the room on the other side, and even people walking and breathing outside. The room didn’t block sound well at all. We checked in as a couple but got two single beds, and they were squeaky and uncomfortable. Then the TV switched on by itself in the middle of the night and lit up the room. I wouldn’t go back.

We paid £140 a night, and the rooms weren’t clean. It felt like a 50s holiday park, and I’d never stay here again or recommend it. The night before, we’d stayed at a 4 star hotel for £120 a night. Breakfast here costs £11, but don’t bother: the eggs were undercooked, there was shell in the scrambled egg, and no bacon. It isn’t worth the money. You’d be better off finding a cleaner, cheaper hotel. This place is a joke, more for workmen, as there were loads of them there.
