Scandic CPH Strandpark

The bed and duvets were incredibly comfortable. I haven’t slept that well in a long time. The room was quiet and clean, and the bathroom was nice, though it echoed quite a bit compared with the rest of the room. There was a TV with Chromecast, so we could stream Netflix. The lights took some figuring out. We guessed that a room card had to stay in the slot to keep them on, since there weren’t any instructions. The hotel staff were awesome, and checkout at 12pm gave us plenty of time. If you like food, pay for the amazing breakfast. We also arrived late, around 10pm, and found the hotel close to the airport. We might have walked if it hadn’t been cold and windy. Get a citypass small to use the 5c bus to and from the airport. The metro is 1.5 blocks away and goes to Nyhavn, the iconic area by the river. Kitchens close by 11pm at the latest, though you might find something still open. We ended up at Vita, where two very pleasant people served us. We even rode the metro with them and had a nice conversation. Copenhagen really is amazing. Would recommend it 100%.

We really enjoyed dinner, which was tasty and nicely presented. The room on the 10th floor was clean and pleasant, with coffee and tea, and a beautiful sea view stretching all the way to Sweden. The hotel is modern and clean, right by the airport and fairly close to the metro stop for the city center. We booked a spa package with two hours in the wellness area and a three-course restaurant meal, including champagne and one cocktail at the skybar. The wellness area was clean but quite small, with a pool, sauna, steam bath, stone bath, and a self-foot-treatment area. The pool was fairly large, with comfortable sun beds and chairs around it. We chose to have our champagne in the wellness area, and it was brought to us. My only comment about that area is that my towel was a bit dirty.

Everything went really well, from check-in to check-out. The reception, room, service, friendly staff, and very good, varied breakfast were all great and high quality. We enjoyed our stay very much. We booked the hotel as a stop between flights; it’s near the airport and reachable by public transport, with one bus stop on the 5C line from the airport. The hotel also offers a free transfer to and from the airport, but check the timetable and availability on the hotel website. It faces the sea and has a rooftop bar where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city, airport, and sea.

Inside, the hotel felt warm and welcoming, despite its fairly modern design and rather bleak surroundings. The reception desk upgraded my room for a small fee. I really wanted a bath, and an extra 200 DKK seemed worth it. The lifts were plentiful and quick, which helped since I was on the 10th floor. The view over the bay was spectacular, so thanks to reception for giving me a sea view. My room was a typical Scandic room, with a wooden floor, comfortable bed, decent bathroom, TV, and everything spotless. It was also extremely quiet despite being near the airport, a sign of good soundproofing. I stayed overnight before my flight. Getting there took about 15 minutes, five on the metro and a 10-minute walk. They also have a shuttle, but with just one small bag I couldn’t be bothered to request it. I booked it at reception for the next morning instead. It arrived on time, was clean and comfortable, and got me to the airport in about five minutes. Breakfast was a buffet in a nicely presented dining room, with fresh food and plenty of choice. Airport hotels can be pretty dire and still get business, so finding one that’s actually decent and reasonably priced was a pleasant surprise.
