Strandhotellet - Blokhus

The place itself is nice, and we support it because we have a holiday home here in Blokhus. But the restaurant service is unbelievably weak. If you want to play the five-star game, you need to act like it. This is three stars at most. The service is a disgrace. Come on, guys, get your act together.

We came as a couple for three nights while traveling around Denmark, and we’ve never had a better hotel stay anywhere in the country. The location is right in the heart of Blokhus, just a few minutes’ walk from miles of sandy beach. There’s a well-kept parking lot, and we always found a space. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and friendly, so we felt at home straight away. The hotel is beautiful, mixing modern style with classical charm. Our room was spacious and cosy, the bathroom had stylish old-school fittings, and the balcony was large enough for chairs and loungers. Best of all, it had a real bed, which was wonderful after a few rough hotel nights. Everything was clean and carefully looked after, including the atrium garden. Fireplaces in the lobby and restaurant added to the cosy atmosphere. The minibar was generously stocked, free, and refilled every day. The small wellness area was also free, well organized, and supplied with plenty of clean towels and complimentary chilled water. Those were two hotel perks we hadn’t come across before. Breakfast was another highlight: carefully chosen, high-quality food, including fresh fruit, strawberries, excellent cold-smoked salmon, freshly baked bread, and eggs made to order. We also had dinner at the restaurant once. They welcomed us with a complimentary glass of champagne, and the meal was fantastic, with fresh seafood and meat and great flavor combinations. It leaned toward fine dining, so the prices were steep, but we felt it was worth every penny. We couldn’t have been happier at Strandhotellet and would definitely return. Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful time, and keep up the good work!

The staff made our five-night stay especially memorable, with Signe as our favorite. She’s wise beyond her years and gave us the loveliest dining experiences. Her skill was impressive: she could recite the ingredients and techniques in each of the chef’s creations without looking. She also went out of her way to help us with other things while we were in Blokhus. Everyone on the team was wonderful, and the Chef kindly prepared dinner using the fresh catch from our fishing charter. We’ll remember it for a lifetime, and we’re so grateful to the hotel staff. Thank you from Minnesota. The boutique hotel was spotless, and both the reception area and rooms felt like something from a novel. We really appreciated the little details, from the creative fresh flowers to the exquisite décor.

There’s a lovely Hygge atmosphere throughout the hotel, and the facilities are very well kept. Everyone was welcoming and nice, and breakfast was good. It’s a beautiful hotel in central Blokhus, about a five-minute walk from the beach and right beside the Spar supermarket.
