Scandic Glostrup

The restaurant was excellent and surprisingly good value, and the staff were lovely: friendly, cheerful and helpful. Free parking was a huge bonus and seemed secure. I had no problem with it. I’d changed my booking to this place before reading the reviews and wondered what I’d done. Turns out I needn’t have worried. The negative reviews made me wonder if those people had stayed in a different hotel. It’s beside two main roads, but noise wasn’t an issue for me. I slept like a baby with the window open. I didn’t see any dodgy people hanging around either. It’s out of town, so there isn’t much nearby, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. I’ll be back regularly. I prefer it to the hotel in town I usually use.

Staff are pleasant, and breakfast is reasonably good. It’s a basic hotel, a long way from both the metro and the city centre. Visitors from the Middle East especially may find the amenities quite minimal.

It’s the usual high Scandic standard. If you’re arriving by truck or bus, access from the back is good.

The event spaces are big and quiet, and the staff are helpful. The events team in particular will go out of their way to help. Rooms look clean and new, unlike the somewhat faded halls. Breakfast is acceptable, and the coffee machines there are pretty good. The outside looks a bit grim. The location is the rough part. It feels like the middle of nowhere, with the nearest stations a 10-minute walk away. There are two stations, and both go into Copenhagen. The hotel’s beside a busy road. I can see why it’s here, but it feels a little grim for a visit.
