At first I had a list of restaurants in mind for the island, but kept running into closed signs. Then I found Flinchs, which was open, though I arrived without expecting much. I don't eat meat or gluten, so finding something can be a hassle. The cook somehow pulled together really tasty prawns with fennel and other vegetables, potatoes that were amazing, and a salad full of flavor. They were flexible and the food felt made with care. My partner had the Wiener schnitzel and was very happy with it too.
The hotel is lovely, and the ground staff were really helpful. Email communication from management was a weak point, though. It was way too difficult to confirm the booking and get invoices.
Right in the center of Samsø's largest town, with everything nearby, this three-star hotel made a good base. We stayed three nights. It's an old place with a nice atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and did their best to make sure we had a great few days.
We had dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff were friendly too.
