Kongsø Bed & Breakfast

We'd happily book this B&B again. When rain made us pack up our tent early, we called and arranged another night here. They spoke English, and although there was a mix-up over which room we'd requested and received, it was sorted out smoothly. The owner was friendly and explained everything clearly by text and email. Downstairs there's a spacious dining room with sofas, a large hallway and a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The rooms upstairs have lovely views. The angled stairs made me nervous with our nearly three-year-old, so you need to keep an eye on little ones. In the family room, one window could be darkened properly, but the other only had a thin white curtain, which made it hard for our children to fall asleep.

We found real peace in this charming older house in a private pine forest, with lovely hikes starting right outside. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and everything worked as it should. Our group of nine had a special arrangement for homemade vegetarian meals from Mette, and Peter lit the wood stove to warm the house. It was a lovely base for exploring the beautiful nature.
