The food was simple but really delicious, and the view from our outdoor table was lovely. Having to collect our food and bring back our empty plates felt a bit odd, but the setting and meal made up for it. Thank you!

The place feels like a hotel that had its best days some time ago, and for the price I can’t recommend staying here. I’m sorry to be blunt, but this was one of my worst hotel stays in a long while. I assume the staff are trying their best, but our stay was bad. The room was spacious, though the curtains barely kept out the late summer sun. We ended up hanging all the blankets over the curtain rails to make it darker. It was very hot, and opening the window let in all the traffic noise from the nearby road. I also had a really strange reaction to something in the air. As soon as I went inside, I couldn’t stop sneezing, but I was fine outdoors. It must be some specific allergy of mine, though it felt almost as if every cat or bed bug in the world had held a conference there the night before. Dinner was only okay for the price and service, despite being advertised as good. Breakfast was fine, nothing special.

The restaurant food was a highlight. The biksemad with bearnaise sauce was amazing, and the portion for two could easily have fed three or four. I can’t complain, though I probably ate enough for two or three people. For my one night before continuing the journey, the stay worked out great. The room was okay, in an older inn style, and the bed was comfortable enough for me. The kitchen ventilation outside my window was noisy while the kitchen was open, but thankfully stopped when it closed. I’d have liked blackout curtains too, since passing cars with their high beams lit up the whole room. Bring a sleep mask if that bothers you. Checking in was confusing. We had to do it in the middle of the restaurant during dinner, and the waiter, who was also the receptionist, seemed unsure. In the end, they handed us the whole booking list so we could find our room. I won’t get into GDPR, but that was just bad service.

Breakfast was good, with options for vegetarians and vegans. The hotel itself was comfortable, if nothing special, and the rooms are in a single story extension, so there are no stairs. It’s also a restaurant and event venue. We didn’t fancy the meat based menu, so we skipped the restaurant, though a look around the facilities suggested it’s a good spot for events. The location right on the road is lovely and convenient.
