1 Hotel Copenhagen

The people are what made this place special. Markos, Diana, and the bar crew were fantastic, and the reception and concierge teams were welcoming and ready to help. My Husband and I spent three nights here in March 2026, and the whole stay was spectacular. The rooms felt just right, with a clean, cosy style and my favourite Bamford products. The little touches stood out. Food was great too: a lovely breakfast, an easy, flavourful bar lunch, and a pretty good Roast Dinner at the restaurant, even by British standards. We'll be back!

We slept wonderfully in the very comfortable bed, enjoyed a lovely room upgrade, and found the location excellent. The deposit policy, though, made checkout unpleasant. The hotel charged the room total plus DKK1,000 per night on arrival, rather than placing a hold or pre-authorisation. When they had trouble processing the refund, we were effectively asked to pay for the room again, then wait 3-5 business days for the balance to come back. That could have tied up nearly three times the cost of our stay, which felt disproportionate. Reception didn't handle the issue very well. It was resolved, and all charges were refunded about 2 business days after checkout, but a significant amount of money was tied up in the deposits. I'd urge the hotel to rethink the system. I don't see why a 5 star hotel needs such a sizeable deposit at all.

Breakfast had fresh, high-quality food and plenty of healthy choices, and the location made it easy to explore Copenhagen while keeping the hotel peaceful. I found the staff attentive, friendly, and professional. My room was spotless and modern, with a great bed, and the building pairs sustainable choices with stylish design. A fantastic stay, and I'd happily come back.

Michael, the concierge, was a huge help arranging a bike and sharing good recommendations. Everyone on staff was lovely and eager to help. The food was sensational, and I admire the hotel's eco-conscious approach. The place itself is gorgeous, truly first class. You really can't do better.
