The room was the strongest part of my stay at citizenM Copenhagen Radhuspladsen. It was compact but cleverly arranged, with a very comfortable XL bed, effective blackout blinds, and an iPad that controlled the lights, TV, and blinds without trouble. Cleanliness was decent and everything felt fresh. The central location is handy too. Still, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're fine with paying for the look and putting up with unnecessary hassles. Copenhagen has better-value options where guests aren't made to feel like a nuisance. The reception is on the seventh floor, which meant bringing luggage into a small ground-floor lobby, squeezing into an elevator, and going upstairs just to check in. That was inconvenient from the start. Check-in itself was awkward: they direct guests to self-service tablets, while staff hover nearby, so it didn't feel any faster or smoother than a regular desk. I would have preferred talking to a person instead of being sent through a kiosk. There are also rules in the seventh-floor lounge against bringing in outside food or drinks. In a city where picking up a bakery sandwich or coffee is normal, being unable to eat it in the public lounge felt petty and unwelcoming. At the same time, their expensive bar and snacks are heavily promoted. That policy undermined the relaxed social-hub atmosphere they claim to offer. Front desk service was indifferent, slow with basic questions, and not especially helpful. The setup seemed more concerned with looking trendy than serving guests. The room itself was good, but the gimmicky check-in, out-of-the-way reception, no-outside-food rule, and lackluster service make it style over substance. I'd skip it next time.
