There was plenty going on here, but it was still quiet enough to sleep and relax. The place was clean, organized and had loads of facilities, with a good atmosphere and a mix of travellers, families, solo guests and people on work trips. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel, which wasn’t really my thing. I’d still stay again, though, and a few changes could make it amazing. You pay extra for pretty much everything. The kitchen costs 25sek as a one-time fee, which is annoying, even if it’s affordable. It was a good size and fairly clean and tidy. Laundry was 20sek for the washer and 20sek for the dryer, but after an hour my clothes still weren’t dry, so I had to pay for another cycle. The rooms got really warm at night, even with the fan on level 3. This was in May, and air conditioning would be appreciated. Bathrooms are inside the rooms, which was fine, but everyone can hear you, so there’s not much privacy. The lockers could be bigger, since I could only just fit my rucksack in, and you need a padlock. Check-in through the app was a bit annoying; I much preferred a physical key card.

What stood out most was how they handled my request: I asked to be put in the same room as a friend before he’d even booked, and when I arrived, we were together. They clearly care. The location was good, not too far from a subway stop. The shared rooms are about the only hostel-like part of the place. The lobby is really nice, with lots of seating, pool tables and a bar. The beds were super comfortable, the room lockers worked as they should, and heated bathroom floors were a lovely surprise.

The location is perfect, the people were friendly, and I was glad to have a female-only room and a bathroom in the room. The bathroom was very small, though. Rooms were comfortable and clean, with lockers for your things. I arrived 30 minutes early but still had to get a locker, which was a bummer.

This hostel-hotel is bad on every count, or maybe it has the worst design ever. The room was bright all the time because there were no curtains, or at least not enough on the window. There were no safety bars on the beds, and I’m surprised nobody has hurt themselves yet. When I arrived at 4pm, the bathroom was already dirty, and no staff cleaned it up. The bathroom doors are glass, so noise carries through the whole room. Even when the shower and bathroom doors are closed, there’s a gap between the door and frame. There weren’t any garbage cans in the room. Sustainability and recycling aren’t an excuse for that. It feels like staff are being lazy, and it only makes the rooms dirtier. It was expensive already, and they charge extra for everything on top of that.

This has been my favorite place on a long trip through several countries. I stayed one night with my two teenagers while we were passing through, and our private triple room had three bunk beds. Everything was clean, streamlined and in good condition. The beds were comfortable. I felt a little uneasy using the steps to the top bunk, but it was sturdy. There were lots of people hanging out in the lobby and common areas, plus an extensive calendar of social activities. The gym was the best hotel or hostel gym I’ve come across, with equipment in great shape, so I could keep up my usual routine. There was a pool too, but we didn’t have time to use it. I think daily access to the gym and pool costs 25 -35 DK. The small laundry facility was handy, although the washers were relatively small and the dryers seemed to take longer than usual. Washing and drying each cost 20 DK. If you pay by card, the front desk can give you coins. There are also storage lockers for 3-24 hours. It seems especially suited to younger or solo travellers, but it worked really well for my family too.
