The signature dinner with pairings was delightful. Every course looked beautiful and tasted great, and the portions and pacing left me satisfied without feeling stuffed. The service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We sat in the sun room, a cozy, lovely space where we could watch the colors shift over the sea and Ebeltoft and talk comfortably. I recommend it ❤️ We also had the three-course dinner with wine pairings here this week. The food was top quality, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service was friendly. I’d recommend eating here without hesitation. I’ve hosted a large party here too, and the planning, hosting, and meal were all perfect.

Matthias was an excellent server. He noticed subtle changes at our table and anticipated what we needed. When he realized I didn’t speak Danish, he kept speaking English and brought me an English menu. The other evening manager seemed reluctant to come over when my partner signaled, though the rest of the evening staff were exceptionally courteous. Thanks, Matthias, and happy first anniversary with the hotel. The inn is old but has been kept up well and was clean. We had what seemed to be a junior suite, though the layout felt more like a family room and was a little odd. The bathroom was downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs, something to be aware of. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant food is excellent, and worth trying even if you don’t stay here. Afternoon tea was great, and dinner was good too. We had nine courses, but there were sometimes more than 20 minutes between them, and the meal took almost five hours, which felt a bit much for that format. Breakfast could use more variety. What was there was good, but one day there was no fruit, there was no cereal, only one kind of cheese, and the only hot options were eggs and sausages. A little more would make a difference. One morning it was also set up late. The service was friendly overall, and we had a good experience, but the little snags in different areas kept it from being a full five stars. I’d return if I’m in the area.

We had a two-day hotel stay and really enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere, welcoming staff, and good food, from gourmet dining to the brasserie and breakfast. Great value for money, and highly recommended.
