I came by to see the architecture, even though I wasn't staying at the hotel, and the buildings were stunning from every angle. I even enjoyed walking around in the rain, though I imagine sunrise or sunset would make the place more fascinating. The entrances set into little grassy mounds reminded me of hobbit houses. From what I read, they help soften the complex's monumental height and tie it into Esbjerg’s coastal landscape. The mounds can also be used for sitting or relaxing and may act as a small sound barrier by the walkway and façade. A Place To Hotel in Esbjerg was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), with David Zahle leading the project. Lars Kristensen and Peter Høpfner developed it. The hotel opened in November 2021. The complex includes A Place To Hotel on the upper floors, A Place To Stay for long-term rentals and furnished apartments, and A Place To Study for student housing.

Dinner was good, and both the view and room were great. I stayed for three nights and found the place good overall, though breakfast was very average and didn't offer many options.

The location caught me by surprise because I hadn't checked before booking. It's not right by the city center, about 2.5 km away, though that's not terribly far. Aside from that, I had a good experience: the breakfast was good, the bed was super comfortable, and there's a small gym with good equipment. The room also has a kitchen if you'd like to cook.

The room had no air conditioning, and the extractor fan kept changing speed, switching itself off and back on. The refrigerator was a nice feature, but when it started up it sounded like a diesel generator. The rooms felt cramped, and the bed was on wheels for some reason. The view was poor too, just other people's apartments. Being far from the center leaves you with limited food choices. Parking was good, and the gym was somewhat functional. Breakfast was fresh but limited. I don't think the place was worth the money, whatever the building's fashionable look.

There was a lot to do around the hotel, and everything inside was clean and comfortable. Our room had excellent equipment, and you can get appliances for the kitchen from reception. The staff were very friendly. We'd be happy to return.
