The location is excellent, apart from the noise. I also got the impression the hotel may mainly appeal to older guests who enjoy drinking a lot. The hotel offers a free glass of wine each day, and given how some employees behaved, I wondered if they regularly had some too. Some rooms were missing basic toiletries like soap. The latest report, which the hotel is required to display by the state, shows the restaurant received a poor sanitation rating from government health inspectors, worse than a typical pizzeria. Judging by breakfast, it didn't seem to me that the problems had been fixed, so I'd strongly consider skipping it. The elevator is very small and old. I didn't see a government safety inspection report inside, and most guests seemed to take the stairs.

Breakfast was peaceful in the hotel's old-fashioned, stylish restaurant, and I thought the food was good. It had everything I needed, with fresh juices as a highlight. The rhubarb juice was my favourite. My room looked new after the hotel's complete renovation. It was beautifully furnished in calm colours, and facing the courtyard meant it was quiet. The hotel itself is stylish and right in the city centre.

The brunch buffet is good, and the new wing is really nice. Most of the staff are friendly.

If being near the main shopping street matters, the location is great, and the service was not too bad. But getting a good night's sleep was difficult. The hotel smelled old, and the room wasn't great. You could hear people walking because the wooden floor under the carpet creaks a lot, and the walls are thin. There were spiderwebs in the bathroom, and the sink looked like it might crack.
