The place was dirty, smelly and full of spiders. The shower was broken, there was no small light in the bedroom, and the bed was old and uncomfortable. They were nice about accommodating a late check-in, but this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The tables outside were green with dirt, the carpets were torn and the bed was broken. There were cobwebs everywhere, and the place smelled bad and was very dirty. I don’t recommend it.

I wouldn’t describe the 0 stjerner TV programme as a negative, but this hotel really does live up to it. The bed linen and towels were clean, and the room had a toilet and shower. But to earn a star, there needs to be hand soap by the sink, reception service and a TV with a remote. I’m guessing the TV also needs to work, the dispenser needs to contain hand soap, and reception needs to answer in less than 12 minutes after you call its number. Don’t expect much when you book. If you’re okay with that, Jan, who owns the hotel, is a character in a class of his own. The hotel is centrally located in Gedser, right by the ferry port.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. It was dirty and smelly, with bad beds and cobwebs and spiders everywhere. We found old rubbish that stank. At least the bed linen was clean and there was hot water. The owner was pretty off, but the place was close to the ferry.
