We had a really wonderful two-night stay. The building was clean and nice, with a pool and spa, and the location worked perfectly for visiting the wild deer park and some other places.

The staff were really helpful to all the guests, and there’s also a nice-looking pool. The breakfast had a great selection of cereals, eggs, bacon, bread, and cheese, and the coffee was good. My room overlooked the large central garden, which was very peaceful, and I could sit outside and watch the sun go down. The bed was comfortable and the shower was very good quality. There’s no air conditioning, so you need to open the windows and close the curtains as the sun goes down. The rooms are very good value. It’s a fascinating hotel jointly owned by the Danish Blind society: everything is on the ground floor, and the rooms are very spacious and well appointed. I’d highly recommend it for families or solo travelers.

The one thing I’d change is the curtains, since they don’t block all the daylight. Apart from that, this is the most practical and functional hotel I’ve stayed in, with everything needed for a comfortable visit. It has a down-to-earth, retro feel. The bathroom and bedroom lights are dimmable, and the built-in bench converts into a lounge sofa or TV chair. The boxspring beds are very comfortable, neither too firm nor too soft. The shower is roomy, and it’s easy to avoid knocking the shelves or accidentally changing the temperature. There’s a huge swimming pool, and the sauna is open for a remarkably long stretch, from 6 in the morning until 23 at night. Breakfast is included and satisfying, and there’s plenty of free parking.

The pool, sauna, and spa are lovely. The pool is estimated to be 18-20m long and up to 1.5m deep, so you can actually swim. It can be popular, but I’ve never had trouble with a slow swimmer occupying the lane. There are lots of toys in the pool area for kids to use for free, self service, with an adult. Staying here supports blind people. Dinner is mostly daily courses rather than à la carte, which I like, and the service is good. Breakfast is decent, nothing to write home about. A few downsides, though I’m still rating the place 5/5: the aircon wasn’t working in summer, and a noisy neighbor affected my impression. I did like the building design and the small shared spaces inside and out. The WiFi is insecure, which makes it easy to use, but you shouldn’t use it if privacy and security matter to you. I really hope they fix the aircon before next summer. The location is what it is. It suits me because it’s near my company, but there’s no extraordinary view and it’s not very close to the harbor, shopping street, or anything like that. With a bike or car, downtown is easy to reach, and it’s also within walking distance if you like walking.
