Givskud Zoo - Hostel

There are three huge rooms where kids can play, and the zoo is right across the street. Hostel guests get a discount, and a one-day ticket can be used over three days, which worked well alongside our visit to Billund Lego with the kids. The room was bright, roomy, and very clean, and the kitchen had everything we could think of for making our own meals. Excellent value for money.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and went further than I'd expect at a hostel. Our four-bed room was spotless when we arrived, had comfortable beds, and came with its own private bathroom. The one restriction is that sleeping bags aren't allowed. You can rent sheets and a towel for a small fee.

The location works perfectly for a visit to the zoo. It's a hostel, so the standard is basic, and the shower in particular was very simple. The shared kitchen's cleanliness depends on the other guests. We had a better experience with that on our previous visit.

For a hostel, it's a nice spot, and the staff are lovely. The kitchen is fully equipped. The rooms are very basic, though, and could do with fewer insects.
