Stammershalle Badehotel & Spa

We rented bikes on Saturday and explored the nearby area, after a weekend built around the gourmet package: a 2 course dinner on Friday and a 7 course meal on Saturday. The food here is way beyond what you'd expect, and the place feels quite unique. We also went to the Saturday wine tasting and tried 8 wines from their cellar. It began with Champagne from 1999, then moved through a lovely selection of old and rare bottles. The cellar alone makes a stay worthwhile. Highly recommended. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

The brunch wrapped up with pancakes, though by then I was too full to do more than try a little. There was a huge range of food, including fresh fruit, salads, meat, cheese, jam and yogurt, along with fresh bread and great drinks. During brunch, the kitchen serves 3 meals. What a wonderful spread.

Breakfast was incredible, and the staff were exceptional. We were there for the opening weekend, so there were a few kinks to work out, but it was an unforgettable stay. Such a charming hotel, an absolute gem!

The old main building is a beautiful Bornholm property more than a hundred years old, with a quaint interior. The newer rooms in the new wing have a bit of a Danish design feel and amazing sea views. Staff were very kind, and the restaurant was good, with local beer and a choice of a set daily menu or 4 or 7 course tasting menus. We had the set menu, 2-3 courses. The food was good, especially the excellent dessert, though service was slow and the waits were long. When service did arrive, it was charming. The wine list felt expensive, and there were only a few wines available by the glass. Breakfast changed each day, which was a nice touch. It seemed like the place was in the middle of a major facelift and expanding its facilities, with some work still to do. The sauna was disappointing, and getting the lights on was tricky, though the charming staff helped us out. There is also charging for electric vehicles, which seems pretty normal on Bornholm.
