We’ve been here twice now and would love to come back this Christmas. We usually visit around that time, when the place feels especially cosy and festive. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The heated pool is wonderful, and having drinks in the spa area feels like such a treat. The restaurants are excellent, and the spa and dinner packages are fantastic value. Both visits have been truly lovely experiences.

The person who served me was very friendly, and I liked sitting outside in the wine garden. The wine, though, was an average Pinot Noir, and $55 for a glass felt disgraceful, especially for a 4 star hotel. I’d never visited Marienlyst Strandhotel before, just stopped by for a glass, but that was a mistake. I definitely won’t be back.

The restaurant service was professional, and the food was at a very high level. The staff were extremely nice and service-minded. Our room had a sea view, and the hotel sits in fantastic surroundings right by the water. It’s close to Helsingør, so you can easily walk through the old streets. For a longer stay, Copenhagen is an easy train trip and Helsingborg is reachable by ferry. Just make sure to enjoy the hotel facilities as well. A very nice, cosy hotel.

At a 250€ room rate, having to pay extra for parking is a lot, especially when you might not even find a space. The rooms smell of smoke, and it’s next to a casino. Honestly, it feels very unclassy for a hotel charging such insane prices. I don’t recommend it.

I was staying here for work last week and got a food bug after checking out on my last day. I had a temperature and V&D, so I had to spend the afternoon in the reception area. JONAS E. checked on me several times to see if I needed anything, and even brought me yoghurt and ginger juice to help with the symptoms. His customer service was 10/10. I was extremely impressed by how much care he showed. Thank you, Jonas.
