Marienlyst Apartment

The person who served me was very friendly, and I liked sitting outside in the wine garden. The wine, though, was an average Pinot Noir, and $55 for a glass felt disgraceful, especially for a 4 star hotel. I’d never visited Marienlyst Strandhotel before, just stopped by for a glass, but that was a mistake. I definitely won’t be back.

The restaurant service was professional, and the food was at a very high level. The staff were extremely nice and service-minded. Our room had a sea view, and the hotel sits in fantastic surroundings right by the water. It’s close to Helsingør, so you can easily walk through the old streets. For a longer stay, Copenhagen is an easy train trip and Helsingborg is reachable by ferry. Just make sure to enjoy the hotel facilities as well. A very nice, cosy hotel.

At a 250€ room rate, having to pay extra for parking is a lot, especially when you might not even find a space. The rooms smell of smoke, and it’s next to a casino. Honestly, it feels very unclassy for a hotel charging such insane prices. I don’t recommend it.

I was staying here for work last week and got a food bug after checking out on my last day. I had a temperature and V&D, so I had to spend the afternoon in the reception area. JONAS E. checked on me several times to see if I needed anything, and even brought me yoghurt and ginger juice to help with the symptoms. His customer service was 10/10. I was extremely impressed by how much care he showed. Thank you, Jonas.
