Henne Strand Camping

We stayed in a nature suite 1.0, the smallest barrel, with its own toilet and shower. It was small, as the website clearly says, but clean and cozy, fine for a short stay. The beach is just around the corner and easy to reach on foot. Breakfast was delicious and unusually good for a campsite, and the restaurant staff were kind and helpful. Reception was a bit inattentive at times. Still, the site is worth a stay and I’d recommend it.

We’d love to come back after our first family visit with our two kids and Granny. Everything was organized and done well. The indoor pool and separate wellness area were great, and everything was very clean. There are shops nearby too, with a good selection and quality.

A great spot for biking or hiking to the beach and exploring the countryside. There’s plenty for kids, with two outdoor playgrounds, one indoors, and an indoor pool. There’s also a gym, and you can rent apartments or caravans. High quality camping, with good facilities and friendly people.

The staff were friendly, as were the Danish people we met, and having cooking areas is a real plus. But the water setup is terrible: about 65% of the pitches flood with even a little rain, and nobody from the campsite came by to check on us. Wi-Fi costs extra and usually barely works. Hot showers also cost extra, DKK 3 for about 1:30 minutes, and at these rates they should be included, along with the pool and activities. There’s no way to leave early while the campsite is half settled, even though people come and go, which feels bad. My tip for Denmark: in high season, skip reservations and just look for a pitch, there are enough free ones.
