Østergaards Hotel

We got a room package for three with breakfast and dinner. The food was good and the service excellent, and the price for everything was reasonable. Our room had a TV, a bathroom with a shower and tub, a table, desk and chairs, a sofa, and a cot with a very thin mattress for our third person. They slept on the small sofa instead. There was also some very strange, slightly disturbing art on the walls.

The coffee was weak, so that cost it a star. The clerk/waiter, though, was absolutely brilliant. He handled both jobs at once, even with about half the menu out of stock, and stayed polite while hungry men kept abusing the lobby bell. Give that man a raise.

I went to a social event here. The location was great and the staff helpful. There was plenty of food overall, two servings, but each serving had only two tiny caramelized potatoes, even though they were excellent. I'd recommend the place.

The bedrooms are very plain, with old, tired-looking furniture. Road noise came through the window too much for me to sleep regularly, and the bathroom was dark and dingy. Breakfast was really basic, with little else to do during a stay. The hotel also feels outdated and has no character. It seemed deserted most of the time, and finding staff was a matter of luck.
