Four Points Flex by Sheraton Hillerød

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. I also liked the look of the place, with modern minimalist design and a clean, welcoming Danish hygge feel. The missing wardrobe and small fridge were my only gripe. They didn't cause much trouble on this trip, but I would expect those basics in a premium hotel. Maybe that's just a Danish or Scandinavian thing. Hillerød itself is a lovely, picturesque town, and this turned out to be my best choice while staying there.

The rooms are very small, though that's what I'd expect from a Four Points Flex, and the location is right in the center of this small city. Parking was the frustrating part. The free overnight lot across the street, which is cheap during the day, was completely full when we arrived. Some cars were even on the grass. We spotted the paid garage attached to the building, but only the next morning did I realize how ridiculously expensive it was, despite being mostly empty. The front desk then explained that the hotel had an arrangement with the local mall's garage, where we could have parked. That option wasn't clear when we arrived, and I guess we'd have needed to call after picking up our rental that day to sort it out. I checked in after office hours and forgot to ask about parking. I would have appreciated clearer information about reasonably priced places to park. I could have called before the trip, but guests shouldn't have to hunt around for that information.

No minibar, and the front desk isn't staffed at night. The hotel covers the basics. Good value for money if all you need is a place to sleep and shower.

Good parking, and the hotel is very close to the center of Hillerød, with plenty of places nearby to eat or get a drink. The rooms were really nice too. Great hotel.
