I've been trying stjerneskud around Denmark for years, including at lots of places in Hirtshals, and this year Montra Skaga's hotel restaurant had the best. They also have good wine options.

Nice spot for a weekend. The room was clean and fresh, but we stayed Friday-Sunday and only got fresh towels, no room cleaning. Food and service were 5 stars. Breakfast.

The breakfast was really good, but I can't say the same about the cleanliness. When we walked into the room, it smelled like piss, and the bed sheets smelled the same. I'm disappointed because the reviews were good. For that price, I expected better.

The location works well, by the main road, the Nordsøen aquarium, downtown Hirtshals, and ferries to and from Norway, Faroe Islands and Iceland. Parking is free and accessible. The standard rooms are very large. It's a bit outdated, but the rooms and common areas are clean and looked after. The restaurant is modern, though a little pricey, and the morning buffet was okay. Reception, restaurant and buffet staff were all very friendly.

It's an older hotel and a bit dated, but clean and comfortable, with a modern restaurant and very nice food. The staff were exceptionally friendly and focused on good service. You can easily walk into town or to the rail station. A good choice if you're catching the ferry to Faroe Islands or somewhere similar. I'd recommend it.
