The garden is a lovely place to watch birds flying around and hear them sing, and you might even see the chickens laying eggs in the barn. It’s quiet here and close to nature, with the option to cook for yourself.

We came to visit friends who were staying at Lille Degnbøl, and it was such a charming, cosy place with stylish rooms and really thoughtful, friendly service. Just keep in mind it’s rural, with plenty of grass and animals, so allergies could be an issue.

The outdoor spaces really stood out, with several places to sit and barbecue huts anyone could use. There’s also a self-service minibar stocked with snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The kids especially enjoyed visiting the horses, goats, chickens and donkeys. The apartments are in an older farm building, but they’re nicely decorated, well maintained and very clean. Inside, ours had a sofa area, dining table, flat-screen TV with a good range of channels, a well-equipped kitchenette, fridge, double bed, and bathroom with a toilet and shower. Wi-Fi was free and worked well. Bed linen wasn’t included, though we could bring our own or rent it from the landlord for a reasonable price. Lille Degnbøl is out in the North Jutland countryside, but it’s only a short drive to Hirtshals and Hjørring, and just a few minutes to lovely beaches on the Danish west coast. There’s plenty of nature to enjoy nearby, along with charming villages. The landlords were cheerful and welcoming, which made the stay even better. I’d happily recommend the place and would like to come back.

We stayed in the Penthouse apartment, and it was spotlessly clean. The hosts were excellent, and there are local shops nearby. Such a wonderful countryside stay.

The hosts are so friendly and easy to talk to, and there are lots of animals around. Really lovely accommodation. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
