Kirsten was waiting for us when we arrived and made us a delicious, hearty breakfast the next morning. She was a fantastic host, and everything exceeded our expectations. Hostal Rudbøl is right in the center of town, beside the lake shared by Denmark and Germany and the path along the dam. The hostel was clean and tidy, the facilities were great, and the beds were so comfortable that we slept wonderfully.
A good place to spend the night, and the border right beside it makes for a completely unique Danish-German historical experience. Definitely worth seeing.

Clean and tidy, with helpful, friendly staff and a really good breakfast. Such a cozy place, well above what I expected for the price. We’ll definitely come back.
The rooms have a shower, toilet, and TV, but those are outside. It’s very quiet, though quite expensive.
