Hotel Hornbækhus

We paid 300 euro, expecting the other section, the villa hotel, to have a similar room style because the price was clearly comparable. Instead we got what felt like a toilet room. It was clean, but there was no Wi-Fi, service, fridge, coffee or TV, and spiders were all over the place. You can hear neighbors snoring and flushing, so there’s no privacy. It gave me hostel vibes, though even a hostel would have service and at least a fridge. There was nobody on the premises, no bar, and no way to get a drink or food. This isn’t a hotel.

The food, especially breakfast, was the one weak spot. Otherwise, it’s a cozy hotel with a lovely location and cute atmosphere, and the rooms make you want to stay in them for days.

The tree in the garden really stood out. We had a lovely evening eating together with great company and some interesting conversations.

I already want to return. The host greeted me personally, and I got a free bike to explore town. The beach was just footsteps away. Everything felt so carefully put together, from the bedrooms and cozy places to sit to the wildflowers outside my window. Such a lovely hotel, I can’t recommend it enough.
