Comwell Bygholm Park

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with lots of variety and mostly organic options.

We had a lovely stay, with fans available to borrow for the room and tea and coffee supplies in the hallways. We also borrowed bikes and rode into town. A big thank you to Fleming, who was so helpful during our visit this August. The hotel sits in beautiful parkland and the breakfast was wonderful. There was a waffle machine, plus good yoghurt and granola options.

The balcony looking out over the lake and fresh green trees was a lovely touch, and there were cozy places around the hotel to sit with tea, coffee, or water. Breakfast was excellent, especially the waffles, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed in a castle turned hotel, and its history and authenticity came through everywhere. The receptionist was welcoming, and we could check in before 3 PM. It’s about a ten minute walk through the park to the train station and other public transport. A taxi to the city center took around ten minutes and cost about 140 DKK. There were a few disappointments. The restaurant didn’t serve food on Sunday, and the room had beige recycled toilet paper, which didn’t feel luxurious. The hotel offers city bikes that are usually free, but reception said none were available when we asked, even though bikes were there. They apparently had no keys left because other guests were using them, so it may be worth asking ahead if you can reserve one. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

I could easily stay here again if I’m in Horsens. It’s a peaceful place, surrounded by nature right outside the door, with quiet nights and a good sleep. Here are a few photos of the immediate surroundings.
