The photo setting was a real highlight, especially the huge backyard with Kokkedal Slot in the background. The terraces and staircases at both entrances also made lovely spots for group photos and portraits. Inside, the ceremony room and welcoming front entrance were my favorite places to shoot. Afternoon light in the ground floor lounge and out on the terrace was beautiful, and in summer the big tree in the yard adds a romantic feel to photos. I helped plan and photograph a wedding here, and the day came together really well. We held the ceremony on the ground floor, dressed in an elegant, romantic style. The high ceilings and classic architecture looked incredible, with live violin and cello and perfect acoustics. Upstairs, we set up an intimate dining space for the reception. Guests could mingle in the ground floor lounge or on the first floor balcony, and if the weather cooperates, the large terrace outside the lounge would work nicely for an outdoor reception. The move from the ceremony downstairs to dinner upstairs was easy. Our couple's getting-ready room was a bit small and could have had better lighting, so that's something to consider for hair and makeup. It was cloudy and rainy that day, but the indoor ceremony meant it wasn't a problem. Anyone planning an outdoor event should have a solid backup plan. The vendors were wonderful too. The florist brought the elegant classical feel together, the cake was specially designed to match the theme, and the musicians really lifted the ceremony.

The food, location, and bar and breakfast service at the hotel are excellent. The reception management, though, was a letdown. We couldn't get a clear breakdown of the invoice, and our attempts to get answers went unanswered. After several days of chasing them, we had a rude, unprofessional phone conversation and still got no satisfactory resolution. Sadly, we won't be coming back.

We were here as part of a Trek Travel cycling trip, and the staff made the stay easy, especially Filona at reception, who answered all our questions with a big smile. Dinner was excellent, and breakfast was simpler but still satisfying, with plenty to choose from. The hotel sits in a beautiful castle overlooking a stunning golf course, and we loved the experience. I can't really speak to the price since it was included in our package, but everything was very well taken care of. Highly recommend!

The Annex room was so quiet that I don't think we heard another person inside it all week. We had a good amount of space for two adults, and the controllable air conditioner was an unexpected plus. The bed was very close to one wall, though, so getting in and out on that side was a tight squeeze. I also found the lack of a refrigerator annoying, even if it wasn't a deal breaker. We ate breakfast each morning. It was the same spread every day, but worth having. The hotel grounds and buildings are fantastic, and made the whole week feel special. Getting around was convenient: the train station is about a 15-minute walk along a paved pedestrian and bike path. You don't need a car to stay here, though I'd still recommend one if you want to visit places beyond Copenhagen. Parking is free and there's plenty around the grounds, but weekend evenings got a bit tricky when the hotel was fuller. It can feel chaotic, and you might have to park a little way from your room, though not far. We spent a week here and wouldn't regret staying again.
