The city is tiny, and it's a perfect spot if you're looking for the sea and some quiet. Just don't expect a luxury hotel. Calling it a hotel feels like a bit much, since it was more like a hostel, and there wasn't shampoo in the bathroom.

The unpleasant smell throughout the hotel was the main problem on our visit. Maybe it came from the pipes or the humidity, I'm not sure. Without it, I'd have rated the place four stars. The location in a beautiful harbor village is great, and the price is affordable. Breakfast was quite good, and the staff were friendly. Our basic room was simple and clean, with a bed that was okay to sleep in. There's no air conditioning, so it could get quite hot. The corridors are worn but clean. It's a nice walk along the beach to Knud Rasmussen's house and the lighthouse beside it, then on towards Kikhvan. The village's white sand beach is a few hundred meters away, with the sun setting behind it.

Right beside the marina, the location is great. I emailed beforehand to ask about a room, and the front desk agent got back to me within a day. Everyone was extremely polite and friendly. The room felt fresh and had been recently renovated, and breakfast was plentiful in a nice dining room. My international Visa didn't work.

The rooms are small and dirty, and this place badly needs renovation. There was no shampoo in the bathrooms, and the towels felt like they were a decade old. The food was standard kro fare, with very average roast beef. I'd only stay here if it were my only option.

I arrived at 2:00in the morning after finishing work, so I just needed sleep and wasn't too bothered that there was no TV remote. All in all, very good.
