The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were incredibly friendly. There’s a nice pool, and they’re accommodating toward dogs. The building sits on a green hill just outside town, about a lovely 20-minute walk from the restaurant square. Inside, the design has a distinctly modern Danish feel, with warm light, natural materials, and earthy colors. The rooms are standard hotel rooms, but the value for money is what makes this place five-star for me.

They gave us a refund for everything, which is why I’m giving two stars, but the dog rules made the stay a problem. The rules came on a whole A4 sheet inside the treat bag. Dogs couldn’t be left in the room, had to stay in a cage, and weren’t allowed to make a sound. They had to be with you constantly or stay in the car, and breaking the rules meant an extra fee. I don’t think that’s good. If noise is an issue, children can cry too, and I know from experience that the crying carries as well. At check-in they were very nice, gave us treats for the dogs, and explained that dogs weren’t allowed in the dining hall. But this doesn’t feel like a pet-friendly hotel. Next time, a little tip: post the rules upfront or stop saying dogs are allowed. Don’t be so desperate for gestures!

We arrived to find just one bed made, although we’d booked a room for two. Reception said the bedding would be in the closet and that we could get it ourselves, so we had to make the other bed despite paying for a double room. That’s unacceptable and very unprofessional. The attached photo clearly shows how the room looked when we got there.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s good value for money. Breakfast was excellent, though the breakfast room could feel a little cosier. The room decor was good and clean, but I did spot some hair on the bathroom floor. The beds are very soft. There’s also free parking, just remember to register your car in the lobby.
