Scandic Eremitage

The Wi-Fi was amazing, and the breakfast buffet had a good range of options. The hotel is well kept and clean, while the room itself was decent but pretty standard, as was the interior design. It’s right in the middle of everything, close to every major shopping centre. This review is for the standard/family room at Denmark’s biggest hotel chain. For the price, I expected a better-looking place and was a bit disappointed. There are plenty of inexpensive hotels in Denmark for half the cost, so my three-star rating is based purely on value for money.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and made everything run smoothly. Being above a mall is handy if you like shopping and dining, and the included parking was welcome. The room was clean, though there was a strange smell, probably from the old furniture. The furniture felt outdated, and there was no mini fridge, which was inconvenient. To me, it’s an average three-star hotel and a reasonable option if service and location matter most.

I couldn’t stay after all because of personal challenges on the day I was due to check in. I explained what had happened, and the team was supportive and agreed to return my deposit without charging a cancellation fee. I’m grateful for that. I’d been in touch with the reception and reservation team for two or three weeks beforehand about changes, travel suggestions, and booking details. After travelling for a few weeks and dealing with them throughout, I can say this place is run by people, not machines. They value people more than just dollars. The breakfast was one of the most delicious and wholesome I’ve had. I also liked their on-request room cleaning approach, which saves water and is environmentally friendly. The surroundings offer picturesque views. The hotel is inside Lyngby store centre, right in the heart of Lyngby, and handy if you have things to do at Denmark Technical University. The train station is within walking distance if you’re not carrying heavy luggage. One downside: some bathroom repair requests weren’t dealt with at all during my stay.
