After a day exploring the nearby castle area, it was lovely to settle into Tranekær Slotskro's cozy atmosphere with its friendly staff. I tried the seafood pasta and roast pork. Both came in generous portions and tasted fresh and well-seasoned.
The food at Tranekær Slotskro was fresh, well made, and comforting, though nothing especially fancy. What stayed with me most was the cozy old-world atmosphere. It feels like one of those places you remember for its character.
Denmark can be a tough place to stay authentic, but you absolutely nailed it! We had a lovely lunch here a few weeks ago, with food that was delicious and new to us. The service was attentive and so sweet. Thanks for the good food and vibes :)
I've never felt so unwelcome at a hotel. The host was incredibly unfriendly and had no problem shouting at customers. Dinner is only available at 6pm if you've booked a stay in advance, and you'd better arrive on time or be ready for a huge blowup. Better to get breakfast from the local bakery.
Coming from Canada, I was glad to find this place. The restaurant has its own image and flavour, and the food brings a sense of culture. It was easy to get to, and the woman on the phone was very patient with my husband and me. By far the best African restaurant in Denmark. I'd highly recommend menu #4 with a nice cold drink 🤍
