"Jeppe" - 300m from the sea in NW Jutland

We visited in winter, when it was pretty quiet, which was a big plus since we could enjoy the facilities all by ourselves. It’s a lovely place with lots of atmosphere, a retro-hygge style we really liked, and amazing, friendly staff. The ribeye steak with rødvin sauce at the restaurant was among the best we’ve ever had. We’d 100% come back.

We stopped here for dinner to get out of the fierce sandy wind, and it turned out to be a nice spot in a good location. The food was spectacular and delicious. I had the Wienerschnitzel, served with potatoes, peas, sauerkraut, some sill, and a lemon. Service was good when we could get someone’s attention, though at times it felt like they were avoiding our table. They were quite busy, and I understand eating out works a little differently here. It took well over an hour from ordering to getting our entrees. When we finally got their attention, we asked for ketchup and got a tiny jar with about 20ml. Still, I’d recommend giving the place a try.

We had a great stay for the last two days of our time in Denmark. The newly renovated apartment was spacious for two, with a very nice bathroom and kitchen. The frying pan worked, but the other pots weren’t suitable for the induction stove, an easy thing to fix. It’s a self-service setup, with two numbers to call if you need anything. The envelope at reception had useful information. We did have trouble finding our apartment because some of the unit numbers weren’t visible at all.

The hotel is pretty cozy and clean, right on Løkken’s main square. If I’d come to party and sing along to live music until midnight, it would have been perfect. But I was there with my family for a few beach days, and the troubadour playing downstairs in the hotel restaurant kept us from sleeping until midnight every night. I couldn’t use the apartment the way I’d planned.
