Motel Majbølle Gamle Skole

The owners were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was gorgeous. This is a lovely little motel just off the highway, and it was very quiet. The house is amazing, almost like staying in a museum. The rooms have everything you need. If you're after a hotel with charm, this is it.

Breakfast didn't start until 8, too late for us because we had to catch the ferry early. We'd asked for breakfast and explained our timing, but the owner apparently wasn't willing to serve it earlier. We also requested a double bed, but got two single beds standing in different corners.

We stayed at the motel twice in two weeks. The first booking, through Trivago, went smoothly. For the second stay we booked directly, and the price doubled. The owner had agreed we'd pay the same amount as before, but when it came time to pay, we were charged twice as much. When we contacted the motel about it, they hung up on us. I wouldn't recommend it.

Last year the stay was perfect. But on July 2th 2019, I got a very small, dirty room in the big building. It felt as if nobody knew I was coming.
