The grounds are beautifully kept, with a deer park around them and extensive walking routes through nature. It’s a great place to stay if you want to unwind in the Danish countryside while still being close to everything. We stayed in the former cow stables and loved the big windows and the feel of the room, which was spacious and luxurious, modern yet classic. The only thing missing was a minibar or small fridge.

The food, the area, and the whole experience were among the best I’ve had in a long time. We spent three nights at the hotel in August 2023 and loved swimming each morning at the private beach. The food was exquisite, and the waiter carefully explained every part of each dish as it arrived. On our last day, local porpoises came by the beach. We won’t forget that. Our only small complaint is that the transport options from the local train station could be clearer. A section on the website explaining how to reach the hotel would really help guests who don’t know the area.

We didn’t stay there, just had a meal at the restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed the scenery and view. The set menu was three courses: the pollack main was quite bland, but the tarte starter and apple-based dessert were good. With a non-alcoholic drink, the meal costs USD $90-120 per person.

The cafe provided excellent service, and the food was presented to a high standard. The gardens were beautifully maintained, and the castle is in a lovely setting with access to the shore of the Lille Belt. We highly recommend this place!
