Hotel Præstekilde

The restaurant is expensive, and the rooms are old, like something from the 90s. The bathroom water never gets warm. For the price, it’s definitely far too expensive. This hotel has a lot of potential if money went into updating the rooms and maybe rethinking the restaurant. I’d never stay here again. For the same price I could find something better in central Copenhagen.

The view and excellent service made the dinner especially enjoyable. The food was very good too, and I’d definitely recommend the ten years aged port wine. We had a three-course meal.

“What’s not to like?” Hotel Praestekilde even brings out a piano from storage so professional musicians can play and sing “ Moenssangen”, and breakfast includes home-baked buns. It offers more than you might expect from a boutique hotel. It’s especially well suited to groups, with panorama rooms and a room available for the group to use at no extra charge. Dogs can also stay in special rooms with dog-friendly access. Nothing to complain about, and we’ll be back.

The breakfast was good, and the nature around the hotel is beautiful, but I was very disappointed and wouldn’t return. It wasn’t expensive, though I still don’t think it was worth the money. The room carpets were dirty and seemed not to have been vacuumed or cleaned for ages. There were dead bugs and spiders under the bed. The bathroom was even worse: the shower curtain was so disgusting I couldn’t use it during my three-day Friday-to-Sunday stay. Others in my group had the same kind of filthy curtain. Nobody came to clean or change the towels during that time. I can’t understand how this hotel and golf resort has a four-star rating. I’ve stayed in cleaner, nicer three-star hotels in other countries.
