Hotel Blomme's Place

Being close to the Snogebæk was ideal, and the electric car charger came in very handy. We loved the cozy greenhouse and the thoughtful little touches in the excellent rooms, all full of “hygge!” Breakfast was excellent too, and the light dinners were delicious after long days at the beach or in the highlands. The only thing we'd suggest is adding dark curtains or shades to make it easier to sleep. We'll be back!

Blomme’s was a perfect base for exploring Bornholm. It's such a relaxed, warm, friendly place, with lovely rooms, a great breakfast, and lovely hospitality. We had a fantastic time.

The internet at Blomme’s was my one concern. It worked well at times and then disappeared completely. Two other guests said they had the same problem. One staff member told us it affected all of Bornholm, but we didn't have trouble with the internet elsewhere on the island. Hopefully Blomme's will sort it out. We stayed two nights in room #25 in a residential part of Snogebæk. It had a tall hedge instead of much of a view, but there was enough space, and we especially liked the large bathroom and super-comfy queen-size bed. Blomme's is about a 20-minute walk or five-minute bike ride from the harbor and nearest beach, with restaurants, tourist shops, and a fairly large general store along the way. The breakfast was absolutely superb, with lots to choose from and plenty of places to sit. Lasse owns Blomme's Place. If you catch him at the outdoor bar for the 5 O'Clock gathering, spend some time with him. He's friendly, generous, and charming, and knows a lot about Bornholm and its long history. The island was once ruled by Russians and, before that, Swedes. His relaxed Danish attitude matches that local knowledge. His staff, including his very likable son Lukas, provide a good level of service. Blomme's doesn't quite feel like a traditional hotel to me, more like an upscale Bed & Breakfast. We rented a couple of good-quality e-bikes through Lasse for a day-long ride around the island. I'd highly recommend it unless you're serious about cycling. There are quite a few steep hills, and an electric bike lets you see more of beautiful Bornholm. I've tried both and much prefer the e-bike. We'd just come back from three wonderful days on Bornholm, an island geographically closer to Sweden than Denmark but as Danish as it gets, with picturesque scenery almost everywhere. The inland is mostly farmland; along the coast there are dozens of charming old fishing villages and pristine sandy beaches. Among Scandinavians like me, Bornholm is known as a cycling paradise, with plenty of routes for finding its many gems. I could easily recommend spending a couple of nights at Blomme's Place, especially if you want a calmer, cozy stay on Bornholm.

A lovely place with a lovely host, simple but exceptionally clean, and excellent value. The breakfast deserves a special mention: fresh, good quality, and lovely to eat outdoors when the weather allows. Recommended.
