The hostel is in a beautiful location, but our checkout morning ended on a very upsetting note. We were having breakfast at a public picnic table outside when the owner told us we had to bring our dishes and cups in right away because checkout time also applied to the kitchen. We hadn’t known that, apologized, cleaned everything immediately, and used our own picnic utensils for the rest of breakfast. A few minutes later, someone clapped loudly to get our attention, and it was the owner. He rudely told us again to leave. We explained that we’d brought all the hostel’s belongings inside, and he asked whether we’d cleaned them too. We had. He walked off without apologizing, leaving us shaken at the table. We packed up and left feeling very sad about the encounter.

The staff were great and we enjoyed the breakfasts, though the vegetables could have been topped up more often. We arrived around 8:30 and there were only a few pieces left from the initial serving. The only real downside was a smell in the rooms, apparently because the carpet wasn’t washed often enough.

The location is lovely, but the house seems to be getting older and older. Sadly, broken doors, windows, and showers don’t seem to get repaired.

A bit more choice at breakfast would have been nice.

The peaceful surroundings, with the beach and forest nearby, were lovely.
