Best Western Plus Hotel Odense

We were very satisfied and would definitely stay again. Parking was easy to find, though the hotel is a little outside the center. The breakfast exceeded our expectations, with plenty of variety and healthy choices. Staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room had a modern design, was clean and well cared for, and felt functional but cozy, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a little sterile, though it worked fine. A welcoming, well-equipped business hotel.

We’ve stayed at Best Western Plus Odense Hotel several times over the years. This latest visit was by far the worst, and deeply disappointing. The problems started in our first room: the bathroom ceiling had hair visibly stuck across several surfaces, and the sink and shower drain were clearly unclean. It felt unsanitary and neglected. We asked to move and were accommodated, but the second room brought its own problems. We put out the “Please clean the room” sign before leaving for the evening, but came back late with our young son to find the room untouched. No towels had been replaced and nothing had been cleaned. Exhausted and ready for bed, I had to go all the way to reception just to ask for clean towels. The bed linen had also been put on upside down, another sign of careless housekeeping. Cleanliness, attention to detail, and care for guests are basic expectations, and this visit failed on all three. It fell far below what we expect from a Best Western Plus and what we’d experienced here before. We hope management takes this seriously, because the quality and service have declined unacceptably.

For the price, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It’s far outside Odense, so I expected a high quality stay, but the basics weren’t handled well. The rooms are great, the beds comfortable, they can fit three beds in one room, and parking is excellent. That’s where the good points end. Breakfast had very few options: either two kinds of eggs and bacon, or pancakes and bread, with carrots or cucumber. Don’t expect much protein. I’ve been here for some days, and they haven’t changed the towels, replenished shampoo or body wash, or even cleaned the bathroom. You can see the hair and stains building up. Even when they do change towels, they smell horrific. The toilet uses barely any water and doesn’t flush properly, struggling to flush even a single piece of toilet paper. As a result, the whole room smells bad. One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.

There was plenty of parking, and the staff were friendly. Our wheelchair accessible room worked well for us, and both the room and bathroom were clean. It was a modern hotel, and having free coffee and tea throughout the hotel was nice.
