The stuffed plaice was delicious, served with tasty fried potatoes. The eel, which was the main reason we came because it’s what Reersø Kro is famous for, was a disaster: the butter or oil was burnt and the taste was like charcoal. We waited 35 minutes just to order, then another 40 for the food. It was packed on Wednesday night and the staff tried, but that still wasn’t enough. They did compensate us for the beer we had while waiting. The mix of that excellent plaice and terrible eel earns three stars.

After a long day moving things into storage at Slagelse, I was looking for a little smørrebrød to tide me over until dinner. That’s how we came across this hidden gem. The food was divine, with huge, delicious portions, and the wine and beer list was impressive. It has the feel of an old-fashioned inn. If you want a lazy afternoon with the best Danish food I’ve had on this trip to DK, it’s well worth the trip.

The food was amazing, and the service was excellent. It’s a cosy, historic spot near the heart of the peninsula, with great staff. I didn’t stay overnight, but my brother had a room booked, so I spent some time in one. It looked nice and was clean and fresh.

The food isn’t bad, though it isn’t especially great either. The service is what keeps letting us down. On our latest visit, for lunch with my family on 19 March 2022, nobody greeted us when we arrived, and even with a reservation we had to ask the waiters where our table was. We’ve been to Reersø Kro before, and each time we’ve left with a worse impression. We felt like a nuisance and as if we weren’t welcome. The waiters were busy, bevares, but a smile and an occasional update would have made a difference. We always raise problems politely with the waiters. It’s also nearly the only place to eat in the area. For now, we’re done waiting for things to improve, so that was our last visit. Best wishes 🌸

The atmosphere was really pleasant, the service was good, and the food was really good too. For lunch, I’d definitely recommend the “Biksemad” and “Æblekage”.
