Albert provided wonderful service. When we got cold outside, he brought blankets, looked after us as we were moved between dining spots, and added a few meal extras at no charge. His care turned the evening around, and I couldn’t have been happier with his help. Five stars for that experience. We’d booked a package with a three-course dinner, but when we arrived for our reserved table there was no space. First we were seated outside in an unused area on a chilly evening, where other hotel guests came out to smoke. Then we were moved indoors, only to find that spot had been booked for a large party that arrived while we were eating. We had to move again, this time to an opening in the regular dining area. The mix-up could easily have pushed my rating well below four stars. We’d had a great hotel stay otherwise. At first I planned to give four stars, because the Chalk House where we stayed was farther from the main hotel than I expected. But for me, customer service shows in how things are handled when they go wrong.

The room I had was very quiet and had no wall windows, but two large windows in the sloping ceiling kept it bright. There were two cosy courtyards outside, and parking was good and spacious. The service was great, and the food was excellent. I’ll mention breakfast too, there was nothing missing and the quality was very high. I was there for a wedding. There’s one very large room, a slightly smaller one, and four or five small, cosy rooms. I’d recommend this place for a romantic weekend.

The food was really tasty, beautifully presented, and we appreciated having a non-alcoholic wine option. The windows gave us a great sea view. We had lunch there after our civil wedding in Stevns, but the service was much too slow for a restaurant that was half empty.

Our room was on the small side, but clean. The meals at dinner and breakfast were good, and the hotel has a lovely classic charm. Staff were kind and very attentive, and the position gives you a great view of the ocean and cliffs. One evening we ate at the nearby Rodvig Central café, where the drinks and food were excellent.

A good place to get away and rest. The sea is across from the hotel, with a nice bathing jetty, and the restaurant serves delicious food. The whole atmosphere makes it easy to slow down. I’ll come back.
