Rodvig Camping

We were so pleased with this campsite that we stayed a second night. It’s under new ownership, and the old reviews seem out of date. The shower block is completely new, with bright, clean, modern and spacious cabins. Everything is included, and you don’t need coins. The pitches are large, quiet, and well kept, and the receptionist was lovely and really helpful, which was a nice surprise after reading the older reviews. She may be new too. We’d been travelling along Denmark’s coast in our campervan for three weeks, following the beautiful Daisy Route and mostly staying at wonderful campsites. Before heading to Copenhagen, I wanted somewhere nearby to do laundry, take a proper shower, and visit Stevns Klint. Feriebyens Campsite seemed like a good fit, but the many negative reviews made it sound awful. We decided to check it out before committing, and everything looked good, so we booked one night. I don’t usually review campsites, but they really deserve it. Don’t let the old comments put you off, it’s worth checking out!

Lovely reception, and a great campsite if you’re travelling by bike. There’s extra space for cooking and eating. Highly recommend.

The campsite has a grassy lawn divided by hedges into about 20 separate sections, with room for four campers in each. There’s also a small playground and a common room with books, a TV, fridge, and a few power outlets. The kitchen has an oven, stove, microwave, and electric kettle, all free to use. They sell breakfast rolls for a few Danish kroner, which I’d recommend getting, since the nearest bakery is in town a few kilometres away. It costs a little more than other campsites in the area. The bathroom feels old, with tiles that look like they haven’t been replaced in 40 years and a basic shower setup: metal pipes sticking out of the wall and a showerhead you can’t adjust. The showers are free, though. As others have said, the pool was green and seemed out of order in July 2020. The site seems to have seen better days and is a bit pricey for what it offers. Still, it’s not bad, and I’d stay again.

A great campsite for tent camping, with a good kitchen and laundry facilities. The bathrooms and showers were clean and good, and there’s a small shop with all the breakfast basics.
