First Camp Lakolk Strand – Rømø

Outside the site there are several shops, cafés, and restaurants. We tried the Asian restaurant, and honestly it was among the three worst restaurant meals we’ve ever had, even though we ordered à la carte. The campsite is very large, so there’s a lot of noise and activity. The pitches are small, some really tiny. Our 7.45m caravan was 30cm too long, and the neighboring tent extended well into our spot. If you have a larger caravan, check with reception first. The facilities are also large, modern, and clean. They seem to be cleaned regularly, and we didn’t see mold or other unpleasant stuff. Reception staff were okay.

The atmosphere, easy chats with other guests, kids’ playgrounds, beach volleyball area, and clean shared spaces all made this a great stay. I especially liked hearing the birds at night. My little hut had just two beds and was really only for sleeping, but it was easy to clean before I left.

A lovely spot, though it’s a bit frustrating to see people drive from the campsite to the beach when it’s only 100 m on foot. The site itself is clean and spacious, with lots of Germans. Check-in can take ages. There’s just one machine, and if many people haven’t booked in advance, choosing a pitch takes a long time.

The beach is just over the dunes, about a 3 minute walk, and the campsite is neat and clean. All the bathrooms are very clean and accessible to everyone. There are restaurants and a supermarket 200m away. The best place to stay in Rømø, really recommend it!
