Hotel Vadehavet

The shared kitchen was filthy, with old food and dishes piled everywhere and a disgusting table. The toilet was ugly, and the shower had just one jet. The hotel itself was very run-down and absolutely not worth the money. We'll never come back.

I bought a deal for two nights with breakfast, but after arriving at the “hotel,” which looked more like a nursing home, I thought there had been a mistake and checked the email again. It really was the right place. The first room was worn out and dirty, smelled of old blood, and had stained bedding. I could feel the bed springs through the mattress. After I complained, I got another room that was a little nicer, but it had a 140 cm bed, which was a problem for a tall pregnant woman like me. There was poor ventilation, a running toilet, and cockroaches, so I didn't sleep all night. Breakfast was miserable too. The rolls were dry and inedible, the rye bread crumbled, and there was just a plate with four pieces of melon, nectarine, tomato, and cucumber. I complained again and was sent to hotel lakolk, where they offered me an apartment. It had food left on the plates, dust everywhere, a noisy refrigerator, and mold. I said I didn't want it, but was told both hotels dated from 1965, so what did I expect? They wouldn't refund me, so we just drove away. We had no desire to stay another night. Never again!

We made our own breakfast in the shared kitchen, which had everything we needed. Breakfast wasn't included at our hotel, so we'd have had to go to another hotel to get it, where we checked in and picked up the keys. Our room had its own toilet and shower, and the beds were clean and comfortable. Thanks for everything!

The view was fantastic, and the apartment was affordable even in peak season. It was spotlessly clean, and after renovation the furniture was quite usable. The amenities are basic, with two hotplates and no extractor fan. The thin walls and shared door to the neighboring apartment made it extremely noisy. You could hear everything, so making calls or watching TV, which only had DVB-T, was practically impossible. Wi-Fi got congested in the mornings and evenings, though it worked for streaming at night. It might be fine for a short stay outside peak season.
