Fredensborg Badehotel

The only downside for us was the mosquitoes at night. Sitting outside the hotel restaurant was fine, but farther along, on the benches near the trees, they made it hard to enjoy the backyard. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay in a large ground-floor room with a sea view and access to a lovely backyard. The hotel is in a quiet spot near Rønne, with a bus stop right outside and bike lanes all around. You can borrow a bicycle and explore the area. Breakfast had lots of choices and was really good. Dinner offered fewer options, but everything we tried tasted good.

Such a disappointment. The website says hotel customers can use the pool and tubs for free, but that isn’t true. We were refused access to the pool area. Do they think we’re worth less?

We had breakfast on the patio every morning, looking out over the ocean. The buffet had a generous range of hot and cold food, with something for both American and Scandinavian breakfast tastes. Our room and bathroom were huge, with lots of storage in the drawers and closets, and the balcony was spacious. Most rooms have an ocean view. The simple, refined Nordic design added to the peaceful feel. We’ll definitely return to this quiet oasis.

The staff, especially Kasper and Frederik, made the stay a great experience. The service was excellent, the rooms were nice, and the bathroom was great, with easy access outside. The beach is a short walk away, and there’s a lovely sea view. Breakfast was a nice buffet with delicious eggs, bacon, croissants, and almost everything seemed homemade. The jacuzzi was clean and warm, set near the edge so you can look out at the sea while relaxing. It’s emptied after each use to keep the water clean.
