Rønne Strand Camping & Hytteby

We stayed two nights and had a very good time. The site is spacious and has automatic check-in. Check the campsite map so you end up in the right area for your gear, such as a tent or camper. The surroundings are incredible, with a lovely forest and beach just 100 meters away, and Rønne is close by. The kitchen is well equipped and free to use. The bathrooms are clean but old.

We had a really good three-night stay, so I’m not sure why this campsite gets such poor ratings. Maybe some people had unfortunate experiences with the manager. It’s not very big and check-in is automatic. Look at the map to choose the right section for your tent, van or other equipment. If you don’t, the manager will direct you to the right area. Once you’re in the correct zone, you can pick your own spot, since the pitches aren’t divided up. The setting is the best part: lovely forest, a beach 100 meters away and Rønne close by. The kitchen is well equipped. I gave it four stars because the sanitary buildings need an upgrade. They were clean, but very old. Maybe that’s a good investment for the future. We enjoyed our stay!

This was one of the best camping trips I’ve had. Henrik and Mette, the couple running Nordskoven Camping, were inspiring and incredibly nice, always smiling, helpful and making sure everyone was having a good time. It felt like a little community, with the hosts setting the tone for everyone’s stay. The campsite is just a few meters from a lovely beach. If you’re visiting the island for Folkemøde, the shuttlebus stop right next door makes it easy to get to Allinge. There are loads of options for different camping styles, though we stayed in a tent. Breakfast was simple and really, really good. For two days we had buns with salted cheese and ham, and on the other day there were tasty scrambled eggs with peppers, tomatoes and other ingredients. It was served outside, with a huge tent available if the weather didn’t cooperate. They also had a small bonfire in the middle of the area, which added to the atmosphere.
