The only real downside was how easily voices carried from the next room. Otherwise, it was a great-value stay in a beautiful, clean area and a lovely town. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and had the basic amenities we needed. Breakfast included breads, fruit, eggs, salads, pancakes, juice, coffee, and bacon. Parking was easy, with free or paid options depending on the booking. I’d happily come back.

We’ve stayed here several times, but after the parking experience we won’t return or recommend it. The automated parking rules and controls are awful if you arrive by car. The hotel has another company manage parking and seems to use that arrangement to avoid responsibility, even though the hotel set it up. We were fined 1940 DKK for picking up or dropping off family and luggage. Other hotels may cost much less, without the worry of a fine like that.

It’s a handy base for exploring Sønderborg and the surrounding area. The hotel’s technology is up to date and easy to use, and the explanations are clear. The YouTube video and parking information were both useful, and breakfast was good too. I’d definitely stay here again.

The late 3:00 p.m. check-in is awkward, especially since checkout is before 10:00 a.m. You’d expect a later checkout after arriving so late, but that isn’t offered. Breakfast also ends at 10:00, so there’s no time for an unhurried meal and then a return to the room for your things. There’s no staff on hand if you have a question. The hotel itself is clean, spacious, and well located. I liked the shared lounge, where coffee and tea are free, a nice touch that makes it feel homey.
