The bed was good and the place was clean, though there were spiderwebs everywhere. The spider in the next room seemed to be an accepted resident, since it was still there after we told reception. The hotel looks much better in photos. We booked a junior suite based on them, but our room looked nothing like the pictures and felt like a 1970s or 1980s relic, far too pricey for what it was. It used to be a hospital, and that atmosphere seems to have stuck. Comparing the room with the photos was really disappointing. The unsecured wifi put us off using it, which is substandard if you’re traveling for work. Breakfast looked good at first, but was among the three worst we’ve probably ever had. The eggs had no taste, the muesli was almost burnt, and there were no seeds, just flakes and almonds in different cuts. Instead of a samovar for fresh tea water, they leave thermoses out for hours. Any coffee beyond what’s in the buffet thermoses costs extra, and the syrup is described as “made with real maple syrup.” For an eco-certified place, we also ended up with a lot of single-use trash. The receptionists were hit or miss. The first was almost rude, while the second was wonderful. It was okay for one night, but we’re unlikely to return, and I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay. More three stars than four.

We stayed in a beautiful suite after a problem came up in our room in the big hotel section. The receptionist moved us to the side where the queen was staying. We also chose two evening tasting menus, and both the wines and the dishes were very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I’d love to stay again. The hotel is a bit vintage, but it feels good in nature and is a great place for art lovers. It’s also close to museum Jorn and swimming. (in 2021)

The walk to the city center takes 20 minutes. It’s a nice hotel on the edge of town, with clean rooms, a nice bathroom, and comfortable beds, though they feel a little small if you’re around 1.90m. Breakfast is fine and the service is good. You can clearly hear noise from the other rooms and hallway.

The staff were very nice, breakfast was good, and the surroundings are beautiful. You can borrow a bike to explore them. But for the price, I expected better from a four-star hotel, especially since it was rather expensive. On my business trip last spring, the room fell short, even though that’s the most important part of a hotel to me. The bed was small, the mattress and pillow weren’t very good, and the toilet was tiny, particularly the shower. The fitness room had very limited equipment. In my opinion, the good breakfast, friendly staff, and lovely area don’t make up for the price.

The restaurant was great, and the staff were helpful and professional. I liked the decor and the whole ambience, too. Parking was another plus. Honestly, I can’t think of anything bad to say, though this is starting to sound like a paid review, so I’ll stop. It’s usually full in summer, so book ahead. They also have conference rooms, bikes, umbrellas, and water, towels, and maps for joggers. Enjoy your stay!
