Hotel Kobæk Strand

The internet was very slow, and the signal in our rooms was so weak it was hard to work or even check emails. Our bedrooms also had no ventilation, fan, or mosquito screens. With mosquitoes everywhere, we couldn't keep the windows open without getting bitten, and the rooms were very uncomfortable. Cleanliness was a major problem throughout our conference stay. There was dust on the bed and on the headboard, hair on the headboard, and an unclean bedspread. The bathroom had dirty surfaces, a bad smell, and plumbing problems that made the toilet uncomfortable to use. At meals, the food had little variety and was poor quality. I had to look through several spoons, plates, or cups before finding one without stains. The conference room was packed and had no fresh air or ventilation, so it was uncomfortable to stay in for long. The place overall felt outdated and poorly kept. Our student team was also housed far apart. In one area, I felt as if I were entering a hospital ward, with people who seemed to have special medical needs, which was unexpected and uncomfortable. Hygiene fell far below expectations, and the facilities didn't suit a large group or conference. The stay was very uncomfortable, and I wouldn't recommend it.

There are lovely wide open spaces here, and it was nice, quiet, and clean. The hospitality was great, with a friendly atmosphere.

I ended up leaving and catching the first transport out in the morning. I'd spotted spiders and cobwebs near the entrance and in shared areas, then found a big spider on my room wall at night, plus spider egg sacs by the bathroom vent. I'm raising my rating to 3 stars because the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, even though I had to leave.

So, so worth staying here.
