Hjorths Badehotel

The food was a highlight each time we ate at Hjorths. Chef Peter apologized when our original starter wasn't available at the anniversary dinner for my parents, then offered lobster instead. It turned out to be one of the best dishes I've ever had, with ingredients, textures, and presentation that felt worthy of a top restaurant anywhere. We came back twice more during our Denmark stay, and the menus were excellent each time, especially the starters and sauces. Chef Peter went beyond what we expected, and his explanations at the table in English were a lovely personal touch. Morten made the evenings even more memorable. His recommendations were spot on, and when the wine we wanted was unavailable on our first visit, he managed to have a bottle ready for our second dinner. The waiting staff were superb, making the experience fun as well as enjoyable. We're grateful to Morten and Chef Peter for three wonderful dinners at Hjorths. We hope to see them again on our next trip to Denmark in 2021.

When Skagen's bustle gets to be too much, this hotel is a lovely place to take a breather. The atmosphere is cozy, the location near the beach is great, and both the rooms and service were very good. We ate well in the restaurant, where much of the food is homemade and the prices feel fair. There's a good wine selection, with open sandwiches and traditional dishes on offer. You can sit inside or out in the beautiful garden. I just love the atmosphere here ❤️

We had a lovely dinner for my wife's birthday, and enjoyed the food. The staff were exceptional, helpful, and spoke good English when explaining the menu. It's in a really nice area, with a beautiful beach nearby.

The junior suite was lovely and breakfast was ample, but the rest of the stay disappointed me. The grounds were uninspiring, the seasonal staff seemed poorly trained, and the small details and basic knowledge were missing. The restaurant menu was extremely limited. Then someone started pressure washing the balcony and windows from a ladder at 7:45 in the morning. I wouldn't recommend this place for a holiday, either for the hotel or the food. The little library shown in the hotel's information pamphlet is easy to miss, and with good reason.
